NUREMBERG - Workers' rights activists are today protesting outside of Adidas's annual general meeting (AGM) in Germany to call on shareholders of the sportswear giant to take steps to protect workers in its supply chain.

Protesters were urging the company to sign the 'Pay Your Workers' agreement through which signatory brands pay into a severance guarantee fund to ensure that workers making their products who lose their jobs receive severance pay.

As well as demonstrating outside of the Adidas AGM in Nuremberg, Germany, campaigners reportedly staged protests in Cambodia, Bangladesh and Pakistan, outside stores across the US and Europe, and at the Netherlands HQ of major Adidas shareholder, Nassef Sawiris.
