MILAN – The ZDHC and the Microfibre Consortium have joined forces to focus on how to quantify the unintended release of microfibres in wastewater from textile mills.

Speaking at the on-going ITMA here in Milan, Sophie Mather, co-founder of The Microfibre Consortium (TMC) said, “We have developed a test method to measure microfibre shedding from fabrics, but we need a similar test method at the manufacturing level and that’s what this new task team is doing – it will be different from the current TMC test method, which looks at finished fabrics, this new test will look at fibre loss during fabric manufacture.”
