NEW YORK – Material science firm Bloom Labs is attempting to harness the value of natural, agricultural and industrial waste by-products to create new high-performance clothing and plastic materials.

Targeting proteins found in biomass waste streams, the aim is to develop ‘next-generation’ alternatives to natural and synthetic fibres that are scalable and commercially viable yet avoid the use of petrochemicals and resource-intensive processes.
