BOULDER – The Outdoor Industry Association (OIA) has launched a new initiative on clean chemistry to help phase out PFAS and other potentially hazardous chemicals in the supply chains of over 1,200 member companies in the USA.

The new Clean Chemistry and Materials Coalition (CCMC) aims to provide these companies – many of which both sell and supply textiles and outdoor branded apparel – with strategies and scalable action plans to help balance financial and product management risks of using hazardous chemicals.

It also aims to help OIA members to eliminate and replace existing materials with suitable alternatives and deliver greater transparency to supply chains, recycling, and emission disclosures.
