OBERTSHAUSEN – German textile machinery giant Karl Mayer which supplies warp knitting and dyeing technology to textile suppliers worldwide is involved in a legal spat with Jupiter Comtex over a new indigo rope dyeing machine the Indian firm was showing at this week’s ITMA in Milan.

Karl Mayer alleges that Jupiter’s latest machine breaches the intellectual property rights of its own resource saving ‘Bluedye’ indigo dyeing system, which dyes fabrics in a nitrogen atmosphere, and claims to halve the use of hydrosulphite and caustic soda normally used in rope denim dyeing.
