MILAN - Delegates at the Planet Textiles sustainability conference here in Milan were this morning treated to a sneak preview of a major new update to the Higg Facility Environmental Module (Higg FEM).

Higg FEM 4.0 will enable data on CO2 emissions from textile and garment manufacturing facilities to be reported against GHG Protocol and Science-Based Targets (SBTi) criteria.

It will also allow for more targeted impact data, according to the Sustainable Apparel Coalition (SAC) which owns the Higg Index suite of tools, and can be applied to adjacent industries such as sporting equipment.
